Scenic Design for The Life and Times of Roger Stone
Written and Directed by Arthur Langlie
Choreography by Rachel Pospíšil
Written and Directed by Arthur Langlie, "The Life and Times of Roger Stone" is an electro swing musical following an old man electro-swing romp through hell accompanied by Satan, aka Lucy. This was the closing show of the seventeenth annual CMU Playground. I drew both backdrops by hand over the course of a week using loads of sharpies. As a design team we took a lot of inspiration from 1920s cartoons and the video game Cuphead.
While looking through the gallery you may notice paper littering the ground. Unfortunately our photographers were caught by surprise when a legion of demons burst through Roger's home during the first dance break. You can see the aftermath of poor Roger's house at the bottom.
