Production Design for Law & Order: SVU Pilot
Class - Scenic Design: Design for Live and Screen Spaces
Instructed by Narelle Sissons. Guest Instructed by Andrew Lietch and Brian Grego.
During this course I was tasked with creating a theoretical design on a sound stage for a single camera TV project. Over seven weeks I gained a strong understanding of the process that goes into designing a show from the ground up. Using an online whiteboard tool (Miro) I organized my research where I was able to keep a reference of details I may have otherwise missed. Early on I decided to give myself the added challenge of finding an exterior location to film in Pittsburgh that would pass for a police precinct in NYC. It was a fun task and after settling on the Pittsburgh Athletics Association I moved on to start building the interiors.
